2020 Battle of the Books Champions

2020 Battle of the Books is under way. We have two divisions this year. Grades 4-6 and grades 6-8. Sixth graders must select to be part of either the Sasquatch Award Book Battle or the Evergreen Teen Book Award Battle.

Congratulations to our 5th grade Champions.

Nathan, Edie, Desmond, and Gia were awarded first place at the 2020 online regional finals. This was the second year for the Battle of the Books program and although a few teams had to drop out due to COVID-19 remote learning conflicts, and each round of the competition was held remotely using video conferencing software, we still had a wonderful turnout. In total 218 students participated in this years Sasquatch Battle of the Books program.

Battle of the Books Champions for 2020

Congratulations to our Middle School Evergreen Teen Challenge team!

This was the first year of the Evergreen middle school division of the Battle of the Books challenge. We had ten schools sign up, some schools were not able to continue through the COVID closures. Which means our numbers were lower than expected but we still had 56 active participants in May. Way to stay strong! The team from Our Lady of Guadalupe took 2nd place at the district finals.

Due to the school closures, the competition is moving online!

Please read the following information about what to expect from our online Battle of the Books competition and important dates for those participating.
