Pacific Science Center: Ooze And Ahs

Grades K – 2

Mondays, October 5th – November 9th

Mix up mysterious goo and create colorful concoctions as you connect with chemistry! What’s Oobleck? What do dancing popcorn and a superball have in common? Make your own slime and S-T-R-E-T-C-H, bounce and plop it, paint a magic picture with mysterious spices, and experiment with liquids, solids and gases. Measure, mix and pour your way through some extraordinary (and popping!) reactions!

 

USTA Tennis

Grades 3 – 5

Thursdays, October 8th – December 10th (no class 10/29 and 11/26)

USTA trained coaches led by certified tennis professional, Mark Toppe, teach children to play tennis, get moving, and have fun. This program promotes life skills, healthy lifestyles, and teaches students how to serve, rally, and score through a specifically designed curriculum. Size appropriate tennis equipment will be provided. Classes will be held in the gym.

  

Smart with Art: Building into Art

Grades K-6

Wednesdays, September 16th – November 18th (no class 10/28 or 11/11)

Participants will discover the Jazz and Blues style of a New Orleans home in cool colors. Famous American architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, will inspire us to create a prairie style home sculpture. Later, we will explore Pueblo art, Medieval castles, and more!

 

Chess Wizards

Grades K – 8

Let your child be part of an exciting and successful chess academy. Classes cater to all ability levels. Each child is challenged by fun games and lessons from real Wizard teachers.

  

Smart with Art: Holiday Gift-Making Workshop

Capturing the Memorable Moment: Digital Photography for the Young Enthusiast

Grades 6 – 8

Thursdays, October 8th – November 19th

This workshop aims to enhance students’ photography skills (point & shoot, SLR, and smartphone!) and help them capture memories that will last a lifetime. They will learn to take pictures without the blur, use natural lighting to their advantage, and compose artistic, beautiful photographs! Photographers will also create slideshows using iMovie.
