Dear OLG Families,

On Saturday, January 16th, a number of CYO coaches were invited to gather at mid-court during Seattle U Athletics CYO Night, to be recognized for their outstanding work. The 2014 and 2015 Play Like A Champion Today Coaches of the Year included: Daren Monroe, Track & Field, Our Lady of Guadalupe. These honored coaches exemplify an ability to sacrifice their time and energy for our youth. Congratulations to Coach Daren for this much-deserved award!
There’s an excited buzz about this year’s auction around school! The class projects, displayed during Catholic Schools Week, were fantastic, and the online auction opened today! Click below for another look at our Auction Preview video!
2016 OLG Auction Preview
When we return to school on Tuesday, we will take up our Lenten tradition of gathering in the upper and lower hallways to begin our week by praying together. Our Lenten prayers will focus on the rosary and will conclude with reflection questions for all of us to carry in our hearts, and challenge us in our lives, as we move through the week. If you are in the building at the very beginning of the day (Tuesday next week, but otherwise Mondays), you are most welcome to join us!
We need live auction volunteers! Check out the opportunities here, or contact your auction chairs.
We also need delicious donated desserts! You earn commitment hours for your baking time. Please contact Jori McChesney, our Dessert Dash chair, at (206) 999-6778 for more details.

-Items purchased by online bidders may be picked up at school on March 2nd, 3rd or 4th.
Turn in your Box tops and Labels for Education in February and help our school purchase library books and recess equipment! Drop off labels from Box Tops and Labels for Education products in the big Campbell’s soup can located at the school office or by the church library. Labels for Education announced they will be winding down their program this fall, so turn in the Labels for Education this February so we can receive full benefits. To learn more, visit Box Tops/Labels for Education, or contact Natalie Trius or Laura Wong. Thank you, OLG families! We appreciate your time and participation!

Drivers Needed: Deliver Food to Local Homeless Shelter
We are looking for a couple of drivers to add to our team. The likely commitment would be about 1 hour/month. Request: a willing, helpful soul to pick up food from a local restaurant and deliver to St. Martin de Porres Homeless Shelter on Sunday nights. This would be a shared responsibility with two other people and take approximately an our to pick up and deliver the food and return home to West Seattle. Typically 10 to 15 containers of food ( 12x20x3″) are donated by the restaurant each week to the shelter. Please contact Joan Bateman, (206) 938-0851, if you have an interest in participating.
