Dear OLG Families,
Happy New Year! I hope it is full of grace and time to savor the people, places, and activities you love.
A Few Staff Announcements
We’ll send an update from Mr. Stein-Ross himself, but were excited to announce that there’s a new baby boy in his family as of yesterday!
Mrs. Joe has announced that next Friday will be her last day in EDC at OLG. We will be celebrating her years of kind and caring work with our students and the many crafts and activities that she has taught through the years. We wish her well and send her off with blessings and gratitude.
Meanwhile, we welcome Laura Wong back to the OLG staff. She has generously filled in at EDC on many occasions and is already a recess monitor. She will be joining the EDC staff and also assisting part-time in the office.
The Salmon are Back!
Not only are the students and staff back at school, but our salmon eggs arrived yesterday. Thanks to Dave Fitton for ensuring that our tank was set up, the water tested, and everything ready for them. The 1st and 6th grades will be caring for them until they are ready for release. Come check them out!
Next Week’s FCE
Next week, we’ll be sending home Intent to Return forms for 2017-18 as well as invitation postcards for Special Persons’ Day on Feb. 2nd. We’re making some changes to Special Persons’ Day, and we need to know who to expect and ensure that every child has a special person attending (or we will find one for them!), so we are asking that you also use the form that will be included to let us know who your child’s special person will be!
Catholic Schools’ Week Open House
…is just around the corner! Mark your calendar for Sunday, Jan. 9th.
This is a great time to come find out about the tremendous learning happening at all grade levels. Invite a friend or neighbor who might be interested in an OLG education. We’re so excited about sharing what our school has to offer that we will be implementing a referral incentive this year! Watch for more details later this month.
OLG Trivia Night
This fun OLG community event, sponsored by Parent Org, is right around the corner; don’t miss it!
Just a reminder…It’s “Blue Friday” tomorrow, Jan. 6th!
Our Lady of Guadalupe School & Parish acknowledges that we are on the traditional land of the first people of Seattle, the Duwamish People past and present, and honor with gratitude the land itself and the Duwamish Tribe.
