October 16th Newsletter

Dear OLG Families,

I want to thank Carrie Morrissey and her amazing team for a fabulous and successful School Fund Drive Dinner last Saturday evening! Kristi Edwards and Vicki Forte transformed the Walmesley Center into a lovely venue for an inspiring evening in support of our school. Thank you, also, to Kathleen Sullivan, School Fund Drive Chair, for exceptional leadership and carrying of the vision for this important campaign that helps OLG  become even better each year!

From Carrie Morrissey…

The OLG School Fund Drive Benefit Dinner was an incredible night of fellowship, fun and fundraising. Thank you to all who came!  We were blessed with a lively crowd of generous donors, moving presentations and fabulous food.  The highlight of the evening was a moving personal story about the benefit of tuition assistance and the strength this former OLG family gained knowing that the entire OLG community supported them during their darkest hours.  As our speaker stated, you never know when the tables may turn and you may find yourself the one in need of sup

port.  What a gift it is to be able to share with others in our OLG family!
In case you missed it, you can watch Mrs. Hieger’s video about her trip to the Holy Land.

This amazing trip was made possible through the School Fund Drive, one more way that OLG continuously strives to offer our professional staff opportunities to grow and improve as educators and beyond. The current and future 7th grade classes will benefit from her first-hand experience as she is able to make a more personal connection to biblical sites and current and historical events.

This year’s dinner raised an impressive $25,980, which includes a very
generous $3,500 matching gift for new and increased gifts up to that d ollar amount. Thank you to our attendees! Currently, we have $46,510 in pledges and donations, not including employer matching gifts.

In order to get the windows updated in the classrooms, we need to have EVERY school family donate to the best of their capacity.  Please go online today and pledge your support to our school, allowing us to improve the environment in which our children learn, as well as to extend the opportunity to attend OLG to as many families as possible.
Special thanks to our awesome School Fund Drive Committee:
Earle Bravo, Angela Chapman, Chris Dyer, Kristi Edwards, Vicki and Lee Forte, Valerie O’Mara, Jason Pankow, Jen and Jim Southwell (MC for the evening), Fr. Jack, and Kathleen Sullivan, chair.

We are also grateful for this year’s tremendous Table Captains:

Angela & Scott Chapman
Patty McDonnell & Brian Flack
Jason Pankow

Senait Solomon
Kristi Edwards
Joy Gonzales & Earle Bravo
Natalie & Ernesto Trius
Tovee & Nelson Turla
Christa & Brian Callanan
Jen & Jim Southwell
