November 26, 2014

Dear OLG Families,

I want to wish all of you a wonderful Thanksgiving! Enjoy this special time with your loved ones!

When we return from Thanksgiving break, we will be in Advent and will begin our Monday morning prayer services in the hallways. On Friday evening, December 5th, we will have our OLG “Light up the Night” celebration. Our all-school Our Lady of Guadalupe Feast Day Mass will be Friday, December 12th at 9:00 am. Please join us in celebrating during this holy season!

Next week, you will receive an email with information about upcoming extra-curricular opportunities for the winter/spring. We’re also lining up summer programs, with registration information scheduled to go out by the end of January.

Place orders as often as you like (weekly, bi-weekly, every couple days…). Let’s get the most we can from this great program! Contact Janet McClelland or Marisa Lewis with questions.

Upcoming Parent Education Night (December 4th)

The Parent Org is hosting a Parent Education Night at 6:30pm in the School Hall. Our evening will focus on Internet Safety with an eye-opening presentation from Stefanie Thomas with the Seattle Police Department. Ms. Thomas will cover pertinent safety information for every parent, whether you have a middle school student, a preschool student, or a high school student. This information helps us all, even computer savvy adults, to be aware and alert to the dangers and vulnerabilities the internet can pose, especially when it comes to social media. Please join us on December 4th and learn how to protect your children and even yourself when taking advantage of the many opportunities and tools the internet provides. Everyone is welcome; there is no charge to attend. RSVP invitations will be sent via email in the next couple weeks. Child care will be provided. We hope to see you there!

Our Lady of Guadalupe Feast Day (December 12th)

Celebrate our Patron’s feast day by attending the all-school Mass at 9:00 am on December 12th, followed by an after-Mass reception with breakfast items and beverages, hosted by the Parent Org in the Walmesley Center. All are welcome! We hope to see you there!

If you are interested in helping with set-up/clean-up or serving food, please sign-up by clicking this link .

Simply enter your email to get started and view the available spots. Or if you prefer, you can volunteer via email. Thank you!

WHEEL Shelter Update
As you may have already heard, the start of the shelter was delayed due to the unfortunate hospitalization of two of the women leaders.  The new start date will be December 2nd.  If you would like to help welcome the women, we will be collecting Welcome Cards in the parish office through Monday, December 1st.  You can also drop off Get Well cards for Maria, who is still in the hospital recovering from surgery.  Thank you for your hospitality!
