Many of you likely receive the Archdiocesan magazine, Northwest Catholic, at home. If so, you’ve probably already seen the terrific article about OLG 8th grade teacher, JC Santos, entitled “JC Santos Guides his Eighth-Graders to be Servant Leaders Now.” As we approach Catholic Schools’ Week, I’m aware of what a far-reaching impact Catholic school educators have – and I am especially grateful for the phenomenally talented and dedicated faculty and staff we have here at OLG. It’s great when we get to see one of them recognized beyond our community! In the article, JC says that he wants to convey the following to his students: “You have to understand who you are if you’re going to have a sense of how you’re going to make an impact in the world,” and, “I never want you to forget that in some facet of your life, you need to contribute to the betterment of your community or your society. That’s what we’re here for.” The service rooted in faith that is so much a part of an OLG education, leading to the student-selected Juan Diego Graduation Project, prepares them to do just that!
An interview with Mr. Santos can be heard on Sacred Heart Radio AM1050 during the week of January 16-21 at the following times: Sunday at 8:00 am, Monday at 11:00 am, Thursday at 6:30 pm, and Saturday at 3:00 pm.
