2019 First Annual Battle of the Books for Archdiocesan Schools

In May 2029, organized by Archdiocesan School librarians, 331 students in grades 4th through 6th formed 83 teams in the fall and read the 12 Washington State 2019 Sasquatch Nominee Books to then compete in a Jeopardy-style question-and-answer competition to determine top teams. Students from Assumption St. Bridget, Holy Rosary WS, Our Lady of Fatima, Our Lady of Guadalupe, St. Bernadette, St. Francis, St. Joseph, and St Luke participated in the first annual Battle of the Books organized by their school librarians.

Eight teams and 34 students participated the final round hosted at St. Francis of Assisi in Burien.

Student teams and librarians from the schools gathered in the morning for competition which ended with a pizza lunch. St. Bernadette won the competition with St. Luke in second place and Assumption St. Bridget in third. Congratulations were given to all teams in this inaugural event.
