I am thrilled to serve as Principal at Our Lady of Guadalupe School – a vibrant and joyful parish school community, committed to fostering academic excellence for all students and a lifelong commitment to service, rooted in faith. Our staff is committed to the growth and success of each student, to creating a faith-filled learning community, and to ongoing professional development. In partnership together, our staff, school families, school commission and committees provide a supportive environment in which students thrive and take ownership of their learning. As a ministry of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, our school is supported by a parish community that believes wholeheartedly in the school’s mission and ministry. Our theme this year reflects this commitment to ministry and education:  We are the Bread of Life.  This is a community in which everyone has a role to play, and the participation and gifts of all are welcome and celebrated. Come visit and see for yourself what a special place Our Lady of Guadalupe is!

I have worked in education for more than eighteen years, most recently as the math specialist and on the administration team at St. Luke in Shoreline. I have also served as principal at St. Therese Catholic Academy and spent years in the public schools as well. I believe that in Catholic schools we have the unique opportunity to build the spiritual component of students along with excellent strong academics.

I love witnessing all aspects of student life: from joyful games of tag on the playground, to surprising discoveries in science class, to joining hands at mass. I look forward to sharing these moments and more with Guadalupe students, staff, and families. My own faith journey began at OLG when I completed RCIA in 2004. My family and I are currently active in Our Lady of the Lake parish where my younger two children also attend school.  My oldest is graduating from Seattle Prep this year.  I am also an avid outdoorsmen and enjoy hiking, backpacking, biking, and cross-country skiing.  I look forward to seeing you in and around our wonderful campus.

As Development Director, I love to partner with OLG School parents, alumni, the OLG Parish community, and everyone else who understands the importance of a well rounded spiritual and academic education in today’s world,  Together we can support our mission and help make a difference in the world around us by investing in our community’s children’s education and formation.

Having attended Catholic school myself, I deeply understand and value the key emphasis of Catholic education on educating the whole child. This means educating children in a safe and spiritual environment with a focus not only on strong academic achievement, but also on Gospel values and ethics, developing service and leadership by embracing the differences of others, and serving those in need.

My road to OLG has not been a straight one. I studied Hotel Business Management and obtained a specialization in Human Resources from Cornell University. My 20 year hospitality career allowed me to work in many different cities in the US as well as other countries and, this way, experience different cultures, work styles and create amazing memories. After working in every area of hotel operations in a variety of locations, I transferred fully to Human Resources, joining Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.  My goal was helping employees succeed in the industry, learn, develop and reach their career (as well as life) goals. While I was never able to profess a specific faith in the workplace, I always sought to instill in employees the Christian values of integrity, compassion, gratitude, forgiveness and love for one another. But even though my career in hospitality was exciting and incredibly rewarding, my heart always longed to work in a role where I could not only live my faith fully everyday, but where I could also contribute -somehow- to a ministry of the Catholic Church.  And now I can!

I am an avid reader (everything from fiction, to non-fiction, to reference books) and I am currently studying Philosophy.  I love traveling with my family and going for walks every time I can.  I also practice boxing and archery.

I feel so blessed to being part of OLG and I look forward to connecting with everyone in the community and helping in any way I can!

Being a part of  the inner-workings at OLG and getting to know your children first hand has been incredibly rewarding. I get to play, be inspired by boundless creativity and energy, practice patience, and be reminded of mindfulness, humility, and forgiveness. I am blessed to share a role in your child’s joyful lives.  My daughter is a proud graduate of 2019.
