OLG Parent Org Field Day Picnic 

The annual field day school picnic (in the School Hall) will follow the morning field day activities on Friday, June 2, 2017. The lunch schedule will be the same as a regular school day:

  • 11:30 – 12:00 for K-3
  • 12:00 – 12:30 for 4-8

You are invited to join your student for lunch!

The Parent Org will provide hot dogs (thank you to the Lindholm family for their generous donation!), buns, and condiments and fruit. Our generous school community is bringing the chips and desserts – thank you to those who have volunteered!

  • All food items should be dropped off in the school hall kitchen at 8:15 am on the morning of the event.
  • We could not do this fun event without the help of so many wonderful OLG volunteers! We are still seeking volunteers to help with set-up, clean-up and serving. Sign up here!

Let’s make this beloved OLG School tradition the best yet! Thank you!

Open Positions for the Parent Organization for 2017-18 

There are some exciting opportunities to become more involved in OLG school activities, fundraising, and fun-raising by being a member of the Parent Organization Board! Open positions for next academic year are listed below with the number of commitment hours received. For more information regarding the role/responsibility of the positions, or to volunteer in one of the positions please contact Christa Callanan, PO Chair.

  • Parent Org Co –Chair (shadow in 2017-18 to become Chair in 2018-19) – 50 automatic hours     Attend monthly PO Meetings; assist in developing monthly meeting agendas; coordinates Coffee & Donuts with class reps and parish; works with Chair to fill PO openings as needed; act as aide to the Chair; perform the duties of the Chair in the absence or inability of that officer to serve.

  • Auction Co-Chair – 50 automatic hours                                                                                                Works directly with the Auction Chair (Alder Kuhn) and the auction committees in all aspects of Auction planning, marketing, execution, and follow up; assists PO Chair with tracking budget and income; works with the Auction Chair to fill Auction committee positions as needed; and perform other auction-related duties that may be delegated to him/her.

Also, watch for emails from your PO Class Reps with opportunities for you to fill a volunteer role in your child’s classroom for next year (room parent, book order rep, auction project, etc.).

Thriftway Program for Schools Announcement
Want to donate to our school just by shopping at your favorite grocery store? West Seattle Thriftway will refund 1% of all purchases through their 1% Cash Back for the Community program. Save your receipts and bring them to the collection box in the office. That’s all there is to it. Get your family and friends involved too!  Thanks for supporting our school!
