My name is Rachel Hoch-Cushman (known as Mrs. Hoch at OLG) and I have been blessed to be the second grade teacher at Our Lady of Guadalupe School since 2004. Before coming to OLG, I spent 10 years working in University ministry and faith formation at Colorado State University. I received my teaching certificate from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in 2004, and completed my Masters of Arts in Teaching degree through UNC in 2007.
It was an exciting summer of learning and adventures. In June, I collaborated with Miss Hobbs for the OLG Literacy Camp. We had so much fun reading and writing about worms and gardens.
In July, I spent my time enjoying the beauty of the great outdoors. My husband and I took our 18-month old daughter on her first long camping trip. We spent 3 weeks tenting our way down the Oregon & California coasts, enjoying beaches and the Redwoods. Then we wound our way up through the interior to see such gorgeous sights as Crater Lake, Smith Rock, and Mt. St. Helens. We quickly learned that our girl is a natural & enthusiastic camper. She loved being in the tent and adventuring through the outdoors! Our family looks forward to many more outdoor adventures in the coming year!
Here at Guadalupe, I’m excited for journey through the year with the second graders and their families as we grow together in academics and faith!
