OLG is a Preschool-8th Grade school with a proven educational model within the Archdiocese of Seattle. The school program balances both academic rigor and character development. Teaching at OLG

5th Grade Teacher

We are looking for a highly qualified, passionate and energetic 5th grade teacher to join our team beginning in August 2024. The successful candidate will teach all general subjects in a self-contained 5th grade class setting.

Qualifications include:

  • Skill in fostering curiosity, critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Depth of knowledge in content areas of Math, Science, Writing, Reading, Social Studies and Religion.
  • Hands-on, inquiry based approach
  • Genuine interest in, and ability to connect with 5th grade students and families.
  • Skill in teaching time management and organizational skills to help a 5th grader be ready to move into middle school.
  • Commitment to meeting the neurodiverse needs of each learner.
  • Ability to connect faith and Catholic Social Teaching with current events, and current issues in the classroom.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Experience using technology as a tool for teaching, learning and communication.
  • Experience and ability to incorporate the Common Core Standards throughout content areas and appropriately use resources.
  • Ability to collaborate in a team situation.

This position includes a commitment to service learning, while coordinating with fellow teachers on school and class projects. We know we are best when we work together.

At OLG, we continue to build an inclusive culture that encourages, supports and celebrates the diverse voices of our students and staff. Candidates should hold a current WA State teaching certification or the equivalent from another state. Teaching experience is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who are practicing Catholics.
