**UPDATE** Chaperones/drivers

  • All chaperones need to sign the Seahawks Waiver, as well.
  • I have sent a scanned version via email.  I will have blank ones with me on Monday.

PARENTS THAT GET KIDS AT HALFTIME:  YOU MUST HAVE A TICKET FOR THAT CHILD.

  • From the Seahawks:  “Hi Ann, If the parents have a ticket to the game for the child, we can arrange a meeting point. If the parent does not have a ticket for the child, then a chaperone must stay with the child in the Green Room Space until the end of the game to transfer them to their parent. Can you please clarify on if the parents have tickets for the child? Thank you!”

WHAT WILL THEY EAT?

  • Students need to order a HOT LUNCH or bring a SACK LUNCH on Monday, eaten at school at 11am.
  • Seahawks provide snacks around 2:30pm and dinner around 5pm.
  • **UPDATE** Gluten-free needs info from Seahawks:  Hi Ann, I would advise that those who have a gluten allergy, bring their own snacks and dinner. There may be some items they can eat but they are not prepared in a gluten-free kitchen.”

PACKETS OF FORMS WERE SENT HOME WEDNESDAY.  PLEASE RETURN ASAP.

  • OLG Field Trip form
  • Seahawks Waiver
  • Chaperone Form, in case you’ve volunteered (Thank you!  Many have!)

WHO ARE THE SIX DRIVERS/CHAPERONES for the 25 kids?
I held a lottery for the 10 volunteers.  Watch Video of Lottery here:  https://youtu.be/ocwEZ62t0JU
**UPDATED** Chaperones probably need to sign the Seahawks Waiver, as well.

(This seating arrangement above is continually evolving…)

WILL IT BE VIDEOTAPED?  CAN CHAPERONES VIDEOTAPE OR PHOTOGRAPH FROM THE SIDELINES?

  • Original info from the Seahawks:  “On the Field, during the game, photographs are not allowed. We will be having a photographer snap a few photos during Halftime in which I will send you a link to after.”
  • Additional info from the Seahawks:  “Technically, the NFL owns the rights to all footage inside our stadium on game days so filming is not allowed. However, if one of the chaperones is filming the group on their cell phone, I’m not concerned with that.   🙂   We are happy to provide a video to you when the season is over as well. It would include all elements of halftime, not just the choir.”
  • There will be official photos taken on the field during our rehearsal at 2:15pm.
  • Also, from Ally Paynter:

“I just texted with the editor at king 5 and he asked the sports producer to get some shots of the kids. The 5th quarter show covering this game will not air until next Thursday after the Thursday night football game. He said it might be good to put in their sights and sounds segment so will see!  I know the kids would love seeing themselves on tv! —Ally”

WHAT ARE THEY DOING THERE FOR 7 OR SO HOURS?

  • 12:30-2 — Check-in and rehearsal on field
  • 2-2:25 — Photos on field
  • 2:25-2:50 — Snack break, bathroom break in Green Room
  • 3:05-3:10 — Touchdown City performance
  • 3:10-3:35 — Travel to North Plaza
  • 3:35-3:40 — North Plaza Stage Performance
  • 3:45-5:00 — Break in Green Room
  • 5:00 — Dinner in Touchdown City/Mezzanine Space
  • Q2 Start — Last call for Uniforms and Bathroom Breaks
  • Q2/10-minute mark — Leave seats to meet in NE Marshaling area (bags can be stored securely)
  • 2:00 Min. Warning — Enter Field to NW corner.  Group staged and ready for cue.
  • End of Halftime — Groups exit through the NE tunnel.  Escort back to Mezzanine and free to go home.
  • Kids and chaperones may stay and watch the game on a TV in our “Green Room” (or maybe Touchdown City)

WHAT’S THE TIMING?

  • Students and chaperones will be at the Stadium from 12:30 ’til Half-Time.
  • We will try to work out who needs to come home after our Half-Time show and who wants to stay for the entire game.  It could be tricky to split it up…we’ll do our best.

WHAT CAN THEY TAKE WITH THEM?

  • The Seahawks ask that we not bring large purses, backpacks, etc. into the stadium.  They recommend only easily-accessible, one-pouch bags for security.  I will have some grocery bags, in case.
  • There will be a secure place to store bags at all times.
  • We recommend they bring no valuables at all.

WHAT SHOULD THEY WEAR?  **UPDATE**

  • Both Ms. Hobbs & Mrs. Wilson have agreed that students can wear to school their Seahawks gear or clothing they would normally wear to a fun (and cold and rainy) football game!  The Seahawks are giving us choir robes or ponchos in order to look uniform AND stay warm.  After the game, each student may keep his or her robe/poncho.

WHAT WILL THEIR PERFORMANCE BE LIKE?  WILL THEY BE ON TV?  (See above from KING 5 & Ally P.)

  • We will be on the sidelines at the two-minute warning before Half-Time
  • Our performance song is “God Bless America”, one time through (about 48 seconds).  When on the field, we will be facing West and, as is typical, will likely not be broadcast.  Honestly, I don’t know how they’ll be able to resist airing our kids’ cute faces!
  • The Chorus will perform additional patriotic songs during pre-game on the stages at either end of the stadium (see itinerary above).  Kids can practice those songs with the lyrics and links below.

WILL IT BE VIDEOTAPED?  (See above from KING 5 & Ally P.)

  • “I just texted with the editor at king 5 and he asked the sports producer to get some shots of the kids. The 5th quarter show covering this game will not air until next Thursday after the Thursday night football game. He said it might be good to put in their sights and sounds segment so will see!  I know the kids would love seeing themselves on tv! —Ally”
  • There will be official photos taken on the field during our rehearsal at 2:15pm.

CAN CHAPERONES VIDEOTAPE OR PHOTOGRAPH FROM THE SIDELINES?

HOW DO WE RETRIEVE OUR KIDS AFTER THE GAME?

  • Students will return to OLG with one of the designated chaperones.
  • Ann Sager and/or Lauren Hobbs will send an email or a text about which kids/chaperones are heading to OLG.
  • If a parent is in the stadium, I’m sure we can figure out a hand-off.

HOW DID WE GET CHOSEN TO DO THIS!?!

  • Ryan M. of the Seahawks did a search on something like “god bless america seattle children’s choirs” and my OLG School Music webpage popped up.  I chronicle my daily classroom lessons and we’ve been practicing “God Bless America” for our own Veterans’ Day Assembly.  It pays to have a web presence!
  • The Seahawks didn’t invite anyone else.  To confirm how cute and musical we were, I sent him our video; he was blown away!  He presented it to the higher-ups and by the end of that same day, it was a done deal.

Please send me an email with other questions.  I’ll post and answer them here so everyone can see…
