What is VIRTUS?
VIRTUS is the brand name that identifies best practices programs designed to help prevent wrongdoing and promote “right doing” within organizations. The VIRTUS programs empower organizations and people to better control risk and improve the lives of all those who interact with minors and vulnerable adults.

What does the program entail?

VIRTUS includes online training as well as tracking for Safe Environment compliance.  It provides a convenient way for participants to register, read and sign Safe Environment policies online, fill out information for a criminal background check, and register for a Safe Environment class.  Safe Environment Volunteer Toolkit

How do I register for a class?

In your VIRTUS account, after reading the Personnel Policies and completing the Agreement form, you will be directed to sign up for Protecting God’s Children for Adults training.

How will I know if I need to update my training?

You will be notified by VIRTUS when it is time to renew your background check and/or take an online refresher course, which is required every three years.  You can also log in to VIRTUS to see if additional training is required.

Thank you for your commitment to keeping our parishes and schools safe and healthy for our children, youth and vulnerable adults. If you have any questions, please contact our local Safe Environment Coordinator, Sandy Plummer via email or at (206) 935-0358.
