As part of OLG’s on-going commitment to providing the best learning environment possible, students are given access to two of the leading virtual online math and reading tutoring programs for elementary and middle school students:

Maths-Whizz:

Math-Whizz is an online program that provides individualized and targeted self-study math instruction using a combination of direct instruction, adaptive exercises, game-based drill, a gamified learning environment, quizzes and more, all while allowing parents to monitor student progress and development via a digital dashboard. The suite is made up of three core elements that work together to drive math progress in students. These include: a) Their award-winning AI Driven Tutor; b) In-depth assessment and reporting tools;  and c) A bank of high-quality resources. This program aligns with our Math In Focus curriculum, and enable us to provide more support and enrichment for our range of math learners.

Math-Whizz is easy to use and requires no software to download, which makes it accessible 24/7. It provides highly targeted and focused math help within a fun, multimedia and gamified learning environment which makes math more approachable and makes focused skill practice more engaging. Its adaptive technology maintains a consistent and personalized challenge for students, while interactive lessons and exercises prevents students from zoning out. With a recommended usage of 20 to 30 minutes, two to three times a week, Math-Whizz is shown to produce measurable gains for students of all abilities.

XtraMath:

An online math fact fluency program that helps students develop quick recall and automaticity of basic math facts. Fact fluency enables students to access more complex concepts without being held back by lack computation skills. Students with a strong foundation have greater confidence and success learning more advanced math like fractions and algebra.

RAZ-Kids: 

Raz-Kids is an award-winning teaching product that provides comprehensive leveled reading resources for students. With hundreds of eBooks offered at 29 different levels of reading difficulty, it’s easy to put the right content in every student’s hands. Kids access their leveled text through an interactive learning portal designed to keep them motivated and engaged. Every eBook is available in online and mobile formats, and allows students to listen to, read at their own pace, and record themselves reading.

Students then take a corresponding eQuiz complete with an extended answer response to test comprehension and determine future instruction needs. Once a child has read ten or more of the leveled eBooks and passed each of the corresponding eQuizzes, they advance on to the next reading level where they have access to lengthier and more difficult text.
