Here’s what you need to know for the

First Day of School!

Tuesday, August 30th

2022-23 OLG School Supply List

Grades K-8

  • Full uniform* the first day of school
  • First day of school hours:  8:30am-12:00pm  / NO morning or afternoon EDC care the first day
  • Drop off time is 8:15-8:30 am
  • Generally, we recommend Grades K-3 enter at South Door; Grades 4-8 enter at Main (school office) door.  Kindergarten dismissal at the South door; 1st-8th grades dismissal in the Main Lot (gym) How to carpool.  Click K-8 Arrival/Dismissal bar below for more.
  • All-school mass 9:00 am for grades 1st to 8th and parents (please join us!). 
  • Please pack a healthy snack & water bottle every day.  No lunch on first day (noon dismissal); Please provide a lunch for your child each full day.  (At this time we are not offering hot lunch options).
  • NOON Dismissal!  The first day is a half day – your child will be ready for pick up at noon.  (NO extended care in the afternoon today!).

* What does full uniform mean?   The formal full dress uniform must be worn with the logo sweatshirt, vest, cardigan sweater or fleece. Formal full dress or “blues” is required for all-school masses for grades K-8.  More details can be found here

K-8 Arrival / Dismissal
  • Regular School hours: 8:30-3:00 pm
    • Wednesdays are 2:15 pm early dismissal (starting Aug 31st) for grades K-8  
    • There are also some half days (Noon dismissal)
    • Consult the School Calendar for exceptions and details.
  • Drop off time is 8:15-8:30 am (Extended care starts at 7:00 am)
  • Tardy bell: 8:30am (please sign your child in at the front desk)
  • Suggested entrance for K-3rd grade at South Door, 4-8th at Main Door (north)
  • Pick up at 3:00 pm
    • Kindergarten at South Door
    • 1st-8th at north lot (gym) carpool line - children will be released when eye contact is made by teacher… watch the How to Carpool video
  • 10 minutes after dismissal time, students who haven't been picked-up will be escorted to EDC
  • Extended care starts 7:00 am / Afternoon care 3:00-6:00 pm.  
Lunch & Other COVID safety protocols
  • Please provide lunch for your child each day (at this time we are not offering hot lunch options).  We hope to re-implement a hot lunch program, milk option, and Pizza Friday soon.  
  • Recess & bathroom use is staggered throughout the day so that class cohorts are maintained, along with extra building and high touch area cleanings.
  • Increased airflow measures means that your child should be dressed for the weather as we will be keeping windows open and utilizing outdoor learning and recess as often as we can.
  • We limit outside visitors to keep our cohorts as safe as possible.
  • We continue to follow public health guidelines and communicate revisions in the weekly School Newsletter.

ELC Preschool and Pre-K

  • Drop off time is 8:00 am.  Pick up 12:00 pm.  For more details, click ELC Arrival/Dismissal below
  • NOON Dismissal!  The first day is a half day – your child will be ready for pick up at noon.  (NO extended care today!). 
  • Extra clothes and water bottle in backpack
  • Snacks supplied.  No lunch on the first day (noon dismissal).  Please provide a lunch for your child for full days.  At this time we are not offering hot lunch options.

ELC Arrival /Dismissal
  • Please park on 34th Ave SW to accompany and sign your child into school. (Make sure to sign them out)
  • School hours on first day:  8:00am-12:00pm (No before/after care the first day)
  • Starting the second day, regular school hours:  8:00am-3:00pm.  No early dismissal on Wednesdays (only K-8)
  • Beforecare (7:00 – 8:00) and after school care (3:00 – 6:00) are separate from school times -- you must sign up with Ms. Janet if you want to use this service. 
  • We use a software application called BrightWheel for signing in and out and daily communication. We will go through setting it up at ELC Orientation
Lunch & Other COVID safety protocols
  • Please provide lunch for your child each day (at this time we are not offering hot lunch options).  We eat in the classroom (or other large space) in order to have adequate distancing while our masks are off.
  • Recess & bathroom use is staggered throughout the day so that class cohorts are maintained, along with extra building and high touch area cleanings.

  • (optional) Medication Authorization Form – signed by a Physician (optional for medication administered at school)
  • (optional) Verification of Covid vaccinations.  We follow public health guidelines which do not require Covid vaccinations.  However, we would like to notate whether your child has received a Covid vaccine – show your card at the front office.  If parents/guardians plan to volunteer with children, we ask you show your card at the front office.  We strongly encourage all eligible community members to become vaccinated against COVID-19.  Vaccination status affects our response to any health event.  More about protocols
