Hello & Welcome to 2nd Grade!
My name is Rachel Hoch-Cushman (known as Mrs. Hoch at OLG) and I have been blessed to be the second grade teacher at Our Lady of Guadalupe School since 2004. Before coming to OLG, I spent 10 years working in University ministry and faith formation at Colorado State University. I received my teaching certificate from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in 2004, and completed my Masters of Arts in Teaching degree through UNC in 2007.
I delight in spending time outdoors, adventuring with my husband & daughter, playing with my siblings, nieces & nephew, and spending time with friends. I spend most of my free time playing outside — hiking, camping, running, cycling, backpacking. My husband & I delight in adventuring in nature with our daughter, Naomi. We are having so much fun sharing our love of God’s beautiful world with our “little Sweet Pea.”
As a teacher, I hope to inspire my students to be life-long learners, finding the fun adventure in the world around them. I also hope that my love of fitness and play will inspire them to remain active and young at heart throughout their lifetimes. You’ll often see me running along Alki on a lovely afternoon/evening. One of my favorite things about teaching 2nd grade at OLG is having the opportunity to journey with the second graders and their families as they grow in faith through the first sacraments.
I feel blessed and overjoyed to be part of this OLG community. I look forward to sharing the second grade journey with you & your child!
