Meet Your Homeroom Teacher

Hello everyone!

My name is Rachel Hoch-Cushman (best known as “Mrs. Hoch” or “Mrs. H” at OLG) and I have been the Second Grade teacher at Our Lady of Guadalupe School since 2004. As of the 2022-2023 school year, I am delighted and blessed to be “jumping up” to Third Grade! Before coming to OLG, I spent 10 years working in university ministry and faith formation at Colorado State University. I received Bachelors of Art in English and my teaching certificate from the University of Northern Colorado (UNC) in 2004. I completed my Masters of Arts in Teaching degree also through UNC in 2007.

During the summer months, I delight in spending time with my family and enjoying the beauty of God’s creation. In fact, my hobbies are all things outdoors such as cycling, running, swimming, triathlons, hiking, camping and exploring. My husband, two kiddos (ages 6 and 4), and I LOVE adventuring! One of our favorite summer vacations was in 2022, when we spent 3 weeks camping through Washington state, followed by three weeks on the East Coast visiting family and playing on the beach at Chincoteague Island in Virginia. It was so much fun to spend the entire summer being together in the great outdoors. Our family looks forward to many more outdoor adventures in the coming years!

Here at Guadalupe, I’m excited to journey with the third graders and their families as we grow together in academics and faith!
