My name is Jacey Flores. I am so excited to be a part of your learning community this year teaching 4 th grade. Currently, as a part of Seattle University’s Catholic School Teacher’s Corps, I have dedicated myself to furthering my own education as well as the education of the next generation. I believe that Catholic education is not only about supporting young students in achieving academic excellence, but also about furthering their compassion for others through acts of faith and service (all of which are staples of the Our Lady of Guadalupe community). I believe that the purpose of schooling is not only to help students grow in mind, but also in body and spirit.
As a teacher, I want to create a space which encourages action and change, supporting students as they enter into any environment as leaders and advocates for a world that is just and kind. I am committed to providing students with an education that is both comprehensible and equitable. Through the power of knowledge and empathy, my goal is to educate the next generation in all aspects of life. I want students to feel that their unique experiences are valued as well as recognized, building upon those experiences in a way that is beneficial to all so they may continue to practice given skills outside of the academic classroom setting. In my classroom, I hope to inspire curiosity, kindness, responsibility, and respect while fostering a love for lifelong learning. This I believe will help the next generation further create a world built from love, care, and respect.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. In my spare time, you will often find me reading, listening to music, or exploring new places. I believe that continuing to learn and grow personally allows me to better support and inspire my students. I look forward to partnering with families and working together to create a positive, faith-filled, and successful school year for every student.
