Meet Your Homeroom Teacher

Hello Guadalupe Families!

I am absolutely thrilled and honored to be part of the middle school team as the Eight Grade homeroom teacher. Working alongside the amazing Mr. Santos, we will embark on an exciting journey to teach Humanities and English Language Arts, equipping your children with invaluable skills for their academic and personal growth.

What truly excites me is the opportunity to work with the incoming 8th graders, helping them cultivate their leadership abilities, as well as guiding them through the process of conducting and presenting their JDPs (Juan Diego Projects). These experiences will undoubtedly shape their future and prepare them for the next exciting chapter in their academic careers.

Having had the privilege of teaching many of these students during their 5th-grade year, I am genuinely looking forward to continuing to support them in their pursuit of academic excellence. My aim is to challenge them to surpass their own expectations, encouraging them to think critically and push the boundaries of their intellectual capabilities.

I am beyond grateful to be a part of your children’s educational journey. Together, we will foster an environment of growth, leadership, learning, and achievement, ensuring that each student reaches their full potential. I cannot wait to witness their remarkable progress throughout the year.

About me:  I grew up in Colorado, went to High School in Wyoming, and received a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art from Metropolitan State University in Denver. From there I moved to New York City and worked with many world-class artists, managing their studios and assisting them in fabrication. Along the way, I rediscovered my love of education.

After teaching a series of after-school art classes, I pursued and received a Master’s Degree in Childhood Education from Hunter College in New York City. I have taught in New York City public schools (grades 2-5). My wife and I recently moved to Seattle, where she is from, to be closer to family and the beautiful nature in the Pacific Northwest. I am completely thrilled and fortunate to be part of the OLG community!
